Kent Maclaughlin is a Research Associate in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and completed his graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison earning a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and a Ph.D. in Physiology. Kent served as Safety Director for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hyperbaric Research program from 2015-2019. His research focuses on understanding and characterizing the effects of modulating gas partial pressures on cellular oxygen and nitrogen metabolism. He has presented his work at national and international scientific conferences, including the Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society, the European Undersea Barometric Society, Experimental Biology, and the International Hyperbaric Medical Society. He is currently working on research projects investigating the effects of low-pressure hyperbaric air, high-concentration oxygen, and the effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen on Post-Acute Sequela of Covid 19 (PASC or Long Covid) in the pediatric population.
