Sam Sunshine, M.D., is a board-certified Family Medicine and Sports Medicine physician, as well as the founder of OC Sports and Wellness. After completing his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, he earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California. He then completed both his Family Medicine residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente – Fontana, California.
As the medical director of his direct primary care clinic, he emphasizes preventive and lifestyle medicine and employs the principles of functional medicine. His dedication to patient care has earned him the Physician of Excellence award from the Orange County Medical Association for eight consecutive years. For the last sixteen years, he has volunteered as a charge doctor for the Ironman World Championships. In October of 2022, he completed the Ironman in Kona, Hawaii.
